So I hit up 오대산 with 2 of my co-workers and my boss.
For those of you not familiar with the mountain, let me explain to you what it means: 오 = Oh 대 = comes from 대변 which means big shit in a way and so yeah we'll translate 대 to equal SHIT 산 = mountain.. So from my dope translation, 오대산 = OH SHIT MOUNTAIN... and yeah because it is an oh shit event while climbing this endless mountain. (오대산 doesn't really mean oh shit or anything close to that.. it is actually a mountain inhabited by some famous Buddhist monks and stuff... they were pretty nice to us too...)
So anyways I look happy here but I will tell you... this was the hardest thing physically to do in my entire life. It is about 3 KM up and yeah it ain't fun going up. My chicken leg calves were about to break apart and I contemplated giving up many a times. But somehow I kept on going and got to reflect a lot on my life on the way. There were beautiful sights all over the mountain:
When I finally thought I was at the top, I found out that I was only about 20% up. I was about to cry. But I kept going and going and going and going. About 1/2 way up the mountain I was so hungry and about to pass out. But again, I kept pushing on. And then after about 2-3 hours, I finally saw the clear blue sky untainted by any trees or surroundings.
Beautiful sight, aint it? I got to see it for all of 2-3 minutes because it is FREEEEEEEEEEEEEZING up there. As Steve Noh would say, My Frees are Toesing... (My toes are freezing). It was one of the coldest days so far.. much below zero celsius... and also its the mountain top... so you can imagine how cold it was... on second thought, you can't. It was that cold. Anyways, before we ran down, we managed to take one victory pix:
Anyways, the next day, we had to go hunting and stuff and managed to catch a 꿩 or pheasant in English... I have pictures on my cyworld and other ones... go to www.cyworld.com/daybeat to check out the rest of the pix... it takes too long to upload everything... anyways everyone take care and be happy like always. Oh, by the way, I really recommend a trip to a mountain to really clear your mind... just make sure it is a little shorter than this hike... because it is REALLY hard.. and if you don't believe me.. then go try it and cry your own tears.. hehe... one love.
